What Elikonas is Not

Blog post featured image

When people first hear about Elikonas, their instinct is usually to categorize it.

That’s natural. Education has taught us to think in familiar boxes: schools, degrees, certifications, platforms, programs. We look for the closest match so we know how to evaluate what we’re seeing.

But Elikonas doesn’t fit cleanly into any of those boxes.

And rather than explaining what Elikonas is, here is what it is not.

Not a University

...at least not in the traditional sense of a contained system of education between affiliated schools of knowledge. However, Elikonas does collate all the educational experiences on a global scale for those parties willing to participate.

Elikonas does not grant traditional degrees, follow accreditation models, or move learners through a fixed curriculum. However, we will be offering a different type of degree and defining new accreditation models. As for the curriculum, you decide when and how you want to learn.

There is no assumption that everyone should learn the same things, in the same order, at the same pace. That model has value — but it isn’t the only way to become educated, and it isn’t the right fit for everyone.

Not a Bootcamp or Certification Program

Elikonas doesn’t promise quick transformations or guaranteed outcomes.

It isn’t designed to rush people toward a single job title or compress learning into a narrowly defined skill set.

Real education takes time.
Real understanding deepens through exploration, iteration, and reflection.

Elikonas respects that.

Not a Content Library

Elikonas is not a platform for collecting courses, videos, or credentials.

Learning doesn’t happen simply by consuming more material. It happens when people make meaning, connect ideas, and apply what they’ve learned in ways that matter to them.

Elikonas is not about accumulation.
It’s about intention.

Not Anti-Education

Elikonas is not a rejection of schools, teachers, or existing institutions. In fact, we will be partnering with these institutions to offer traditional learning because that still works for a lot of people.

Elikonas was initiated as a response to a reality many people experience: that the prescribed path to being “educated” doesn’t work equally well for everyone.

It has been said, "If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

First of all, this quote has been misattributed to Albert Einstein. We don't know who said it.
Second, the fish is basing its belief on the judgement of others.

Don't believe like a fish.
But DO be what comes natural to you.

Elikonas exists alongside traditional systems — offering an alternative for those whose lives, goals, or curiosities don’t align with a one-size-fits-all approach.

I hope this inspires you and further clarifies what we're building with Elikonas.
